Joan Early grew up in Woodville, Mississippi and began reading at an early age. She traveled the globe on the pages of National Geographic and experienced life through the eyes of great writers. Joan kept records of her family’s journey from Ireland, France, and Africa, as well as the Choctaw tribe of Native Americans. After a career in mortgage banking, Joan devoted her time to family and creating stories set in places she had traveled and loved. Her first completed short story won first place in Ebony Magazine’s literary contest and led to a collection of paperbacks and e-books. Joan continues writing in the tranquility of her home in the Houston suburb of Kingwood, Texas.
