The King's Majesty
Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
In Tudor-era Europe, in the country of Middian, the king is ailing, close to death’s door. His son, Prince Roland, is forced to marry, awaiting his new bride, a princess of a neighboring country. In meeting the Princess Iselin of Alsesse, Roland gives an air of indifference, making himself clear on their wedding night that she belongs to him and he will have her as he pleases, forcing her into a constant state of obedience. And though the marriage solidifies ties, it also causes tension with a past conflict with the land of Tavarous, and Middian soon finds itself heading towards war in the hands of a new king and his queen. Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown, but what of the throne that they sit upon?
