A word on cover art: Covers come with LIT and most newer PDF ebooks. They do NOT come with RTF and HTML books for the simple reason that it DOUBLES the ebook's size. If you would like the artwork to go with your book, you can save it off the excerpt page of the book by right clicking on the cover.

How do I know if I ordered print books or ebooks?

Below is a picture of our front page. For our ordering example, we are going to use The Spawning by Kaitlyn O'Connor, which is available in ebook and print form.

First we will go over how to purchase an ebook and then we will go over how to purchase the print version.

To start the ordering process, click on title The Spawning. It is a hyperlink and will direct you to a page dedicated to this title, which provides details such as the blurb, excerpt, isbn, rating, et cetera.

Now that you have clicked the title and you are on the book's description page (a section is featured below) and have reviewed the blurb and excerpt, you are ready to order.

Click on the BUY button located directly under the large picture of the book and the pricing information.

Now that you have selected the BUY button (featured directly above) you are redirected the page where you choose between ebook and print book and add your selection to your shopping cart (below). If the book is only available in one format, there will not be a drop down menu.

The picture below shows that we are selecting the DOWNLOAD of The Spawning for $6.49. If you want the ebook/download, click the ADD TO CART button now.

If you want to purchase the print version/paperback book of The Spawning, click on the drop down menu (below) and highlight For Paperback Add, and then click the ADD TO CART button.

Once you have selected all of the titles you wish to purchase, click on the CHECK OUT button (featured below).

Now you should be viewing the contents of your cart (below). For our example, we have selected one copy of The Spawning in ebook form and one copy in print form. Below is a picture of what your shopping cart will look like after these selections. Notice that the ebook version lists download under the options column and the print version lists For Paperback Add in the options column.

If there is something wrong with the number of selections or the titles, et cetera. Here is where you can change your order. You can edit the quantity, remove items, continue shopping, or complete your order on this page. (Below is an enlarged picture of the editing area of this page). Sometimes we have sales to mark special occasions. There is a section below for that information. If you are already a customer and have a customer number, here is where that information goes. If you are a first time customer, you will create a customer id number later in the ordering process. If you forget your number, it's okay, you can make a new one. If you create a customer id but enter your email address incorrectly into the order form, you will have to create a new customer id before you can receive your future orders.

Now click on the COMPLETE ORDER button.

If you are a new customer or need to create a new customer id, here (below) is where you enter your billing, shipping, and payment information. Please, please, please be careful when entering your email address. An incorrect email address means that you will not get your download order, or, if you ordered print and we need to contact you, we will not be able to.

Below is a picture of the credit card/paypal section of the order form. Please note that Paypal can take days to go through, which means it can also take days or weeks to receive your links from your order. This doesn't mean that your order hasn't been completed. Please don't reorder your books. If you are worried that your order didn't go through, contact customer service.

The comments section is also provided in this section. This is important to communicate with the shipping department/customer service department. If you ordered multiple copies of a book, and wish to reassure the shipping department that it was not an error in your ordering process, here is where you would do so.

For all other inquiries or trouble, please email out customer service department, they work five days a week, Mon-Friday, 9-5. Please do not submit multiple emails about a problem unless you have waited over a week for a response. It just means that customer service is overloaded and working hard to get queries answered. Sometimes emails get lost, though, so please have patience with us.

If you ordered all print titles, ignore the section with the ebook formats, this comes standard on every order form.

If you ordered ebooks/downloads, this is where you select the format you need. We are working to add Mobipocket to our order form. In the meantime, please email customer service for this format, be sure to include your order form.

Once you have filled in all of the billing, shipping, payment, and format information, you are now ready to complete your order. Click on the continue button to process the order.

Note: There is a statement below these buttons, which is also featured on almost every other page, that indicates that print books ship in two to six weeks when out of stock. If you are selecting a new title, the chances are high that the book will not be in stock. We are working to get ahead of orders every day but can sometimes become overwhelmed. Please have patience with us. We are doing our best. We do value our customers and work hard every day to show it. If you have any concerns over your order, or wish to know whether a title is in stock, please contact our customer service department.

How do I download?

Download links are delivered via email. When you receive the link, click it and you'll see a prompt to dowload the book, either saving or opening. Save it to your computer and be sure to write down where you saved it on your computer. Books ARE NOT zipped, so there should be no problem downloading. If you have a slow connection speed, this could cause you trouble, and it's recommended to download during a time when there is not high internet traffic, such as early morning. If you continue to have trouble, you can email customer service.

How long does it take to receive my e-mail with my download links after I have placed an order?

It usually arrives within minutes. If you don't see your confirmation e-mail with your links pretty quick, check to make sure that it didn't go to your spam/junk folder. Don't place your order again. That will result in a double charge. If you don't receive your order after an hour, contact customer service. If you use paypal to place your order, it can take up to a few days to receive your order if payment doesn't go through immediately. Mention that you use paypal to customer service.

What do I do if I can't remember my customer id?

Email customer service, ask them for your customer id, include the full name you order under and the last receipt or purchase date you have or you can simply create a new id.

What do I do if I typed in my e-mail address incorrectly when I placed my order?

E-mail customer service, let them know what you did so that they can send you your links. You will have to create a new customer id when you order again.

What do I do if I find my cart is still empty after having selected a book?

Once you have clicked the buy button under the cover of the book that you have decided to purchase, you are taken to another page. Make sure that you select add to cart.

How much time do I have to download my ebook?

You only have a few days to download your book before the links expire, so you should do this as soon as you get your confirmation e-mail with the download links.

What do I do if my link is not blue/active?

This means that for some reason your inbox broke the link during transmission. Copy the whole link (Ctrl, C) starting with http:// and paste (Ctrl, V) it into your web browser, then hit enter. It will take you to the prompt to save or open your book.

What do I do if my link has expired?

E-mail customer service. Attache a note about your problem and include the receipt for your order and the full name you ordered under. They will send you your order in 48-72 hours.

What do I do if I click on a link and it gives me the error message "not found" or "abort"?

What do I do if a page doesn't work or a link doesn't work?

E-mail the web design team. They will fix the problem as soon as they can.

What do I do if I can't find an author's name or the name of a book I want in the lists provided?

E-mail customer service. Attache a note about your problem and they will answer you in 48-72 hours.

Does cover art come with the ebook downloads?

Ebook covers come with most lit and pdf formats. It does not come with RTF and HTM. This is due mainly to the length of time it would take to download books, as well as taking up unnecessary storage space, however, all of our cover art is available on the site, and you are welcome to download the large or small jpgs with your purchase. Right click on the image and save it to your computer or print it out.

Are you a subsidy? No, we are not. We do not offer advances at this time, but we are a royalty paying house and submissions go through much the same selection process as they would with any other publishing house.

Do you provide ISBN numbers? Yes. We assign an ISBN number once the contract is received and the book scheduled.

Are your cover artists freelance or in-house? Both. Much of our cover art is done by local artists, however, we have many artists we have met over the internet and they do work for us as well.

How do you decide what goes into print? This is based mostly on performance of the ebook edition and expressed interest by readers and booksellers for the print edition. If there isn't a reasonable amount of interest, a title will not go into print. If the ebook edition has performed poorly, it will not go into print.

Do you post reviews and author news to the page? At this time we no longer add reviews to the website. It simply takes too much time. This will likely change once we've added on a full time webmaster/webmistress.

Why don't you put the books up for sale sooner? We require lead time to do editing, artwork, and bookstore promotion, and authors require lead time to arrange advertising and reviews. If everything is done early, we often release the book earlier than expected.

Do you have books on disk? No.

What formats are your books in?RTF, HTML, MS Reader, MobiPocket, and PDF.

What is the shipping and handling charge?Handling is $2.55 for an order. Shipping cost is now dependent entirely on weight and how fast you'd like to receive the order. Media mail is the most common method of shipping.

How long does it take for a book to be delivered? Out of stock books ship in two to six weeks. Books in stock usually ship within a few days. Downloads arrive instantly via email delivered links.

What is the compatibility of your formats? RTF is our most versatile format and can be read on most word processing programs. HTML can be read by any web browser. MS Reader format is compatible with the newer handhelds, some PDAs, and you can also download a free reader to read this format as well. PDF is read by Adobe Acrobat 3.0 or higher.

Where else can I find NCP titles? Our books can be bought through Waldenbooks, Borders, Amazon.com, Powell's books, previewport.com, handango.com, memoware, Bookisle, The Mage bookstore, Walmart.com, Ebookmall, Fictionwise, Ebooks.com, Yahoo, Officemax.com, Amazon and many more online stores through Content Reserve. NCP books are also available through LSI, Ingrams, Baker & Taylor Distributors and can be ordered through your local bookstore using the ISBN of the title.

Do you ship to foreign countries?

Yes. All the time. You will have to contact service@newconceptspublishing to get a quote on shipping.

Can I get a catalog?

Yes. Send us a self-addressed long envelope with .83 stamped on it and we will send you our current catalog. We update this every few months and send it out will all orders when it is available.

Why should I try an ebook?

Does it seem like the print on those paperbacks keep getting smaller and smaller and harder to read? With electronic books you can scale the font size to suit your personal needs.

Electronic books are easier on the pocketbook than the average paperback book, no matter what the length!

So now you're thinking about those uncomfortable typing chairs? So who says you can't drag up a comfortable one?

Futurologists predict all books will one day be electronic. Imagine what these first editions will be worth one day as collector's items!

Less paper, less waste, so they're better for the environment!

Is your library filling up faster than you can make room? With electronic books you can store 3 to 5 times more books in the same amount of space!

About NCP:

New Concepts Publishing, the first totally electronic romance publishing house, was established in the spring of 1996. Its founder, Madris DePasture, had been a member of Romance Writers of America since the early 90s and was a published author. In her ‘other’ life, she was owner of a successful construction company, which she started in the early 80s. Her first career, however, was in computer science.
